The legal department at one of the leading developers of real estate in Belarus, A-100, has recently undergone a restructuring process which has resulted in the team overseeing not only legal matters, but also all procedures concerning real estate (including administrative procedures, land rights, technical inventory, registration), documents flow and debt collection. Therefore, now besides lawyers, half of the department is comprised of other specialists such as land and real estate issues specialists, a debt collector, and document controllers. With such a combination of multi-disciplinary talent, over the last several years, the team has impressed with its innovation and ability to create and implement various information technology tools, such as an innovative electronic archive system and an automation project of contract reconciliation process. To implement the latter unique electronic process of contracts reconciliation was developed. According to the team’s leader deputy director for legal matters Natalia Lezhneva: ‘One of the main requirements for the program was the ability to edit the document at the same time by multiple people, preserving the versions of documents, all correspondence and comments on the document in one database’. ‘This task was successfully implemented by integrating Office 365 and 1C “Finance Department”’, she adds. On the transactional front, A-100’s legal team has accumulated immense experience in supporting and array of commercial and residential real estate projects: shopping centres, logistics centre, roadside service complexes, residential areas with social, engineering and transport infrastructure. Some recent examples of the team’s project work include: the residential area “Novaya Borovaya”, residential area “Pirs”, residential area “Depo”, “Zelenaya gavan”– a unique residential area for Belarus with golf courses and a number of public-private partnership projects. The team’s most recent work also includes several transactional achievements, including a number of investments, M&A deals, incorporations and regulatory documents. Among a plethora of exceptional lawyers such as Ilona Varchenia, Ekaterina Glinskaya and Yaroslav Misukevich, the team’s lead lawyer Lezhneva receives special praise this year for her leadership and contributions in forming ‘one of the most constant and successful teams in the company’.
