About

Bruna Cassiano began her career as a lawyer in 2008 at the age of 21, working in large law firms in São Paulo specialising in labour law. In 2012, she assumed the position of legal advisor at TeleTech, where she concentrated on Brazilian law and led all legal issues. Her line of reporting went directly to the US and her fluency in English was fundamental to the role. In addition, having internal clients from the most diverse areas led her to broaden her knowledge and make sure she was in line with all their interests. After that, Cassiano was promoted to general manager for Latin America, with a team of 20 people in Brazil and Latin America in the same branch of telemarketing. In the past, Cassiano took over the position of legal manager at Adidas, focusing on sponsorship contracts with football clubs and athletes, as well as the organisation of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In June of this year Cassiano moved to Konecta Brazil in a similar role, but with the challenge of creating the legal and compliance department. Having the opportunity to build the legal department from zero and understanding the needs of a corporate environment, becoming a trust advisor for board directors has been a highlight of Cassiano’s new role. In addition, she has had the opportunity to further develop her management skills and partner with non-legal departments (HR, sales and finance) which requires specific capabilities beyond typical law. Since Cassiano joined, she has been conducting awareness-raising training for all leaders on issues related to good management practices of personnel and labour legislation. Cassiano says, ‘the integration of the legal department within the company’s decision-making processes, transforming it into a trusted advisor for the board of the organisation in Brazil is a key focus of mine. Compliance has become a strategic priority for most companies and certainly part of my brief as a lawyer’.
