‘A rising star in Australia’s general counsel community’, Jean Paul Wallace is recognised as one of Australia’s leading construction lawyers. As legal head of CIMIC Group member, CPB Contractors Pty Limited, he heads a 23-strong team across legal and company secretarial, and works closely with the executive team. He is also currently looking after a legal team of six which handles Asia, India and offshore. With first-rate technical and commercial understanding, Wallace also stands out for his management of the dual function, combining individual development with a strong focus on efficiency and innovation. Working at the heart of the business’ 2015 restructure and rebrand, Wallace has realigned both functions to mirror it, refining processes and helping establish a national law firm panel. During a decade-long in-house career, Wallace has successfully managed many large pieces of litigation, as well as contract negotiations, in each of his past roles including a stint as GC at Tenix and UGL’s chief legal officer. He previously practised at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and Clifford Chance, Hong Kong office.
