What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
At Air Liquide, the legal department is considered a strategic and fundamental component for business success. Therefore, we are involved in all company transactions. In 2025, we signed several complex contracts (which required months of intense negotiation) that were extremely important and profitable for Air Liquide.
What new pressures are you facing from the business as expectations for legal to act as a strategic partner continue to grow?
One of the pressures we’ve been facing is to deliver our services more quickly and in a way that’s even more connected to the business. The legal team must understand the business as a whole (not just legal issues), profitability, EBIT/EBITDA, cash flow, product technical characteristics, and pricing, etc. All of this is necessary to present a solution that effectively connects these two aspects (legal and business).
What strategies has your legal team adopted to manage disputes and mitigate risks in Brazil’s dynamic business environment?
To manage our disputes and increasingly mitigate risks, we always aim to work preventively, that is, training our employees and showing them the best way to conduct business, always following the precepts of the law. Furthermore, the more you know and understand your company’s business, the more risk mitigation alternatives can be presented and used, thus ensuring that success is achieved legally and ethically.
