Career Biography
As Chief Legal Officer at Tamer Group, I lead the legal function across a diversified portfolio of sectors, including healthcare, FMCG, logistics, e-commerce, and IT in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt. I bring a strategic and integrated approach to corporate legal leadership, combining regional experience with a deep understanding of business dynamics.
Over the past year, one of the most significant initiatives I led was a complex restructuring project aimed at optimising the group’s operational footprint across the GCC. This involved navigating regulatory frameworks, managing cross-border negotiations, and revising key contracts to minimise legal risk and support future growth. I also oversaw the legal aspects of major partnership agreements, which were pivotal to our regional expansion strategy.
A key area of focus has been evolving the in-house legal team from a traditional support function into a more strategic partner to the business. We introduced several initiatives to improve our operations, including AI tools for routine tasks and a centralised contract management system. These efforts have enhanced efficiency, reduced turnaround times, and improved visibility for senior management.
Successful collaboration with business partners, in my view, relies on clear communication, mutual trust, and a deep understanding of commercial priorities. I see the legal department not just as a gatekeeper but as an enabler of business strategy. By aligning legal guidance with broader business objectives and maintaining an open-door approach, we’ve strengthened cross-functional partnerships and delivered real value to the organisation.
Navigating the legal landscape in Saudi Arabia continues to demand adaptability, with reforms touching various sectors. In recent years, we’ve seen significant legal and regulatory changes in areas such as commercial law, labor legislation, foreign investment, and digital transformation. These shifts require thoughtful interpretation and practical implementation. I’ve worked closely with stakeholders across the Group to revise internal frameworks, align contracts, and support informed decision-making in an increasingly dynamic environment. This has helped the organisation stay resilient, responsive, and aligned with national priorities.
I’m also passionate about promoting the strategic value of in-house legal teams. Beyond legal matters, I’ve taken part in company-wide leadership development programs, advocating for a broader view of legal professionals as business partners and contributors to long-term success.
