What are the most significant cases, projects, or transactions that you and your legal team have recently been involved in?
Supported functional transformation by optimising legal workflows, strengthening compliance framework, and advising on strategic commercial agreements. The team also managed regulatory updates, vendor renegotiations, and government relations, ensuring legal alignment with operational goals while maintaining agility and risk mitigation across business functions. Often leading the industry in setting the best practices for dealing with regulatory uncertainty.
How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
I prioritise rapid risk assessment, clear communication, and agile legal support (ie 48 hours response). We embed legal into crisis response, maintain regulator dialogue, and reinforce governance. This ensures business continuity, informed decision-making, and organisational resilience, while keeping the legal team aligned, responsive, and proactive under pressure.
Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting?
One standout experience was navigating a regulatory restriction in the healthcare sector, that impacted patient and HCP engagement. By staying close to the frontlines (ie sales & marketing, distribution), acting decisively, and anchoring every move in ethical conduct and patient impact, the GC safeguarded trust, ensured compliance, and turned a potential disruption into a catalyst for stronger stakeholder alignment and operational resilience.
What do you think are the most important attributes for a modern in-house counsel to possess?
A modern in-house counsel must sharpen legal expertise while cultivating empathy, adaptability, and business acumen. With technology reshaping legal work, multiplying its impact depends on staying close to stakeholders, acting decisively, and anchoring every decision in ethical conduct and customer-centric thinking, this is the true north of legal leadership.
What do you think is the greatest innovation you have enacted in the past year?
The greatest innovation I enacted was deploying AI to support document reviews, regulatory tracking, and legal research. This boosted speed and precision, allowing the legal function to act faster and stay close to business needs. It’s a disruptive shift that enhances customer responsiveness while freeing up capacity for strategic counsel.
