How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
Focus on talent retention and continuous learning not only in terms of legal knowledge but also to convert legal roles from traditional roles to being a business partners to all business units within the organization.
What do you think are the most important attributes for a modern in-house counsel to possess?
To evolve from playing tradtional role to become effective business partners who have deep understanding of the needs and interests of their stakeholders and ability to identify pain points and stay ahead of their stakeholders’ need and provide advisory and sound recommnedation that have practical application to businesses.
General counsel often speak of the need to be strategic to reach the pinnacle of the profession. What does being strategic mean to you?
Being strategic is to be relevant in supporting our stakeholders. To speak the lingo as the business units and able to go to the grounds for familiarization of the roots cause of the issues. Strategic is being practical in offering solutions that align with the company’s growth and needs.
