Career Biography
Tochukwu Okezie is a seasoned legal, governance, and technology-risk executive with extensive experience spanning banking, fintech, and digital infrastructure. He currently serves as Company Secretary and Chief Legal Officer at Interswitch Group, one of Africa’s leading payments and technology companies, where he advises the Board and executive leadership on corporate governance, regulatory engagement, and a broad array of commercial transactions across multiple jurisdictions. His work reflects a consistent focus on aligning innovation with regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and consumer protection.
With a foundation built within Nigeria’s banking sector, Tochukwu brings deep institutional knowledge of regulated financial services, having previously held legal advisory roles at several top- tier banks in Nigeria. During this period, he provided guidance on debt financings, guarantees, trade finance, and cross-border transactions, while supporting risk management, corporate finance, and West African expansion initiatives.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Tochukwu serves as a Non-Executive Director on the board of a technology enabled subsidiary within the Interswitch Group.
