Career Biography

Chisom is a seasoned corporate and commercial lawyer with over a decade of experience advising diverse businesses across industries. He is currently the Company Secretary and Senior Legal Manager, West Africa at Autochek Africa, where he provides strategic legal leadership across the company’s automotive marketplace and consumer financing operations in the region. At Autochek, Chisom plays a central role in structuring secured lending and asset-backed transactions, combining strong legal expertise with commercial insight to develop transaction documentation, legal strategy, and governance frameworks across multiple markets.

Before joining Autochek, Chisom was the Company Secretary and General Counsel at VerifyMe Nigeria Limited, where he led legal, compliance, and corporate governance functions during its critical growth and expansion phase. Earlier in his career, Chisom was a Senior Associate at Perchstone & Graeys, where he also led multiple teams in delivering exceptional litigation and transactional advisory services to a broad client base.

Chisom is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, a Certified Management Consultant and a Compliance Professional. He is a co-author of the Nigerian chapters of The Employment Law Review (10th, 11th, and 12th editions), published by London’s Law Business Research Limited. He has also contributed to Global Edge Reports by Squire Patton Boggs and to several World Bank Group reports on Doing Business and Employing Workers. His contributions to the legal profession have earned him multiple recognitions, including the prestigious Esquire Nigerian Legal Awards, where he was named a Rising Star in the “40 Under 40” category.
