Career biography
Karl Rogers joined Standard Chartered in 2010 from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was a Banking, Capital Markets and Structured Products/Derivatives partner in their Dubai office. Rogers started his legal career with Freshfields, where he qualified and practiced in their London and New York Offices. Rogers has led in-house legal teams at several international investment banks in London, the United States (New York, Boston and San Francisco) and Dubai. At Standard Chartered, he is the Global Head, Legal, CIB Client Coverage, leading a team across our 54 presence countries in our clusters of GCNA, ASEAN, Africa and Middle East, Europe and the Americas. Outside of his responsibilities at Standard Chartered, Rogers is the Chairman of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Middle East Committee, who are instrumental in promoting the interest and concerns of the derivatives industry across the region. He is also a member of Dubai International Financial Centre Authority Legislative Committee which reviews and approves legislation in the jurisdiction. Rogers was born 14 miles from Anfield Stadium and has been a Liverpool FC fan ever since. He is based in Dubai, UAE.
