Career Biography
Justin Dowding is Director & Head of Legal for TikTok and ByteDance across APAC, the Middle East, and Africa, leading a team of over 65 lawyers with responsibility spanning 115 countries. He joined TikTok/ByteDance more than five years ago, following three years as Group General Counsel at noon.com (2017–2020).
Dowding has been recognised as General Counsel of the Year (2019, 2023) and for Legal Department of the Year (2021, 2023) at the Middle East Legal Awards (law.com). His earlier career includes senior legal roles at Transguard Group, Expedia Group, The Royal Bank of Scotland, and Allen & Overy LLP.
