What are the most significant cases, projects, or transactions that you and your legal team have recently been involved in?
I and the team: completed the sale of 13 renewable projects in December 2024; completed acquisition of seven sites for large scale renewables development in the past year; and negotiated acquisitions and lending transactions for real estate related deals worth over US$1bn.
Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting?
Yes, I’ve had the opportunity to support projects through their full lifecycle—from origination and development to financing, construction, sale, post-sale services, and dispute resolution.
Based on your experiences in the past year, are there any trends in the legal or business world that you are keeping an eye on that you think other in-house lawyers should be mindful of?
I’m watching rising construction costs and insurance premiums, along with growing resistance to risk allocation from contractors and insurers. These trends are pushing more focus on liability caps and balanced risk-sharing to close deals fairly.
What is a cause, business or otherwise, that you are passionate about? Why is this?
I care deeply about supporting green initiatives at the project, financing, and fund levels—because it’s about more than just profit and loss.
What factors influence your team’s decision to use external legal services versus handling matters in-house, and what criteria are used to evaluate their performance
We typically use external counsel for transactions, while handling routine corporate matters—like NDAs and employment issues—in-house.
