Career Biography

With more than 15 years of experience in corporate law, compliance, and regulatory affairs, Paola has built a distinguished career as a legal leader at the intersection of law, business strategy, and corporate responsibility. Currently serving as Legal and Compliance Manager at Samsung Electronics Latinoamérica, Paola plays a central role in ensuring that one of the world’s most innovative technology companies operates with integrity, transparency, and strong governance.

In her current position, Paola advises senior leadership and business units on a wide range of legal and compliance matters, including contract negotiation, corporate governance, intellectual property, consumer protection, and labor law. She is responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of Samsung’s compliance program, aligning local operations in the Dominican Republic with the broader strategies of the Latin America office in Brazil and global headquarters in South Korea. Her work extends beyond legal oversight, as she actively engages in government relations and public policy initiatives, ensuring that Samsung not only complies with evolving regulatory landscapes but also participates constructively in shaping them.

A distinctive feature of Paola’s career has been her ability to integrate corporate responsibility and ESG principles into the legal function. At Samsung, she collaborates with diverse teams to design and execute CSR programs that generate positive environmental and social impact in local communities. This reflects her conviction that the legal profession must not only protect corporate interests but also foster sustainable and responsible business practices.

Prior to joining Samsung, Paola held senior legal roles at telecommunication industry -Altice Hispaniola and Orange Dominicana-, where she was part of high-profile acquisition and integrations processes, supervised legal teams, and advised on complex cross-border transactions.

Her international experience was further enriched by her time at Orange España, where she specialised in data protection and regulatory compliance, ensuring adaptation to Spain’s Organic Law of Personal Data Protection. This early exposure to European regulatory standards gave her a comparative perspective that continues to inform her regional leadership role today.

She holds a Master’s in Business Law from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a Specialisation in Legal-Tech and Innovation from The George Washington University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Sustainability and Social Responsibility Management at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. This unique blend of legal, technological, and sustainability education enables her to anticipate emerging trends and position the legal function as a driver of corporate resilience and ethical growth.
