In line with this, agility in decision-making is essential — carefully weighing variables and potential risks while ensuring flawless execution. In times of crisis and uncertainty, this principle becomes even more critical, alongside strong teamwork and the ability to gather comprehensive information to identify the best possible options.
What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?
Aligned with the company’s strategic objectives, the legal team has played a pivotal role in driving the growth and development of new initiatives. A standout example is the 100 MW Sabanalarga solar project, which significantly contributes to Colombia’s energy transition.
What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?
At ISAGEN, sustainability is viewed as a core responsibility — essential for long-term resilience and value creation. It encompasses environmental stewardship, transparent governance, and strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders. The legal team (including the team that I lead) plays a key role in advancing this sustainability strategy, under the leadership of Fernando Arbelaez, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and General Counsel. At ISAGEN, legal strategy and sustainability are fully aligned, reinforcing our commitment to responsible and enduring business practices.
What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?
Artificial intelligence is poised to play a transformative role in the legal sector. Our team is actively evaluating and implementing innovative solutions to seamlessly integrate these technologies into our daily legal operations.
