Salesforce has a strong in-house legal team based in Canada that is able to negotiate complex cloud computing software agreements and provides tech-savvy business-oriented legal advice to the firm about its Canadian interests. Salesforce is the world’s leading CRM platform and has been investing in small business development from the start, a core tenant of its market model. As such, Salesforce and its in-house legal team have worked heavily over the last year in investing in the growing Canadian technology scene. The company has launched a C$100m fund to invest in Canadian start-ups adding to the US$17bn it has already invested. It is also investing in the development of coding and software development skills with its Trailhead software, a game based code teaching tool, further displaying the variety of the projects the in-house legal team is central to delivering.
