Playing a central role in the New Zealand financial services regulatory body, Gartrell is praised for her exceptional technical knowledge and for her role in ground-breaking initiatives. Founded in 2011, the FMA has played a central role in several significant pieces of legislation over recent years. Gartrell’s areas of responsibility have recently expanded from supervisor oversight to also include anti-money laundering and counter financing terrorism supervision, and the supervision of Authorised Financial Advisors.
