Founded in 1991, MYOB (Mind Your Own Business) is a multinational accountancy, tax and related services company, initially created on the back of their unique accounting software. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength and now enjoys a listing on the Australian Securities Exchange as well as $370m AUD reported revenue for 2016. The legal function for MYOB is well-embedded, with general counsel and company secretary Ian Boylan having been employed by the company since 2006. An experienced legal counsel, Boylan is also very highly regarded within the company for both his strategic insight and his expertise on M&A matters. Backing him up is Peter Hamblin, legal counsel and team member since January 2016, prior to which he was engaged in an in-house capacity with ANZ Bank and in private practice as a lawyer for Sydney-headquartered firm Clayton Utz.
