< strong> Bio

With a robust career spanning top-tier multinational corporation in extractives, manufacturing, telecommunications, TowerCo infrastructure and banking, I have built a strong track record in negotiations, corporate legal strategy, contract drafting and review, timely execution, regulatory compliance, board governance, stakeholder engagement, dispute resolution, company secretarial and risk management. I have the ability to bridge the gap between legal complexities and business objectives which makes me uniquely positioned to contribute to Hima’s growth plans, strategic imperative, regulatory excellence, and corporate integrity.

My tenure of employment spanning 20 years has equipped me with the hands-on experience. At Roko Construction I had the opportunity to lead the legal and human resources function comprising over 400 staff and this horned my skills in driving teams to be productive and successful collectively. At American Towers Corporation I had the privilege to gain hands-on experience with training of employees and customers as well as implement asset management for TowerCo operations.

My current role at Hima Cement (formerly LafargeHolcim) exposed me to the intricate legal and operational challenges of Uganda’s manufacturing/extractives industry. Additionally, I was a team member for the successful divestment (Holcim to Sarrai Group). In my roles, I have ensured that legal and compliance structures supported business expansion, environmental responsibility, and community relations, critical components for any entity operating in the multinational space.

As the key person of the Ethics and Compliance Committee in Uganda, I was able to support in investigations logged into the integrity line, conduct quarterly reviews of the robustness of the policies to mention but a few Code of Conduct, Supplier and Customer Code of Conduct, ABC Policy, Data protection policies et al. Understanding the regulatory frameworks, health and safety, land acquisition complexities, ESG compliance, joint venture management, and sustainable resource utilisation that govern Uganda’s extractives sector has given me a strong foundation to be head of legal at Hima. In addition, I head the CSR and the corporate affairs functions and ensure that the social fabric of the company is continuously strengthened, and any identified risks are timely abated and/or managed.

Whilst under LafargeHolcim, I wore a dual hat as the Middle East Africa (MEA) regional compliance officer overseeing the compliance functions for Uganda, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania. In this role I was able to extensively engage, at a regional level, with the different compliance and regulatory regimes within the region and further to gain an appreciation of compliance and cross border best practices as well as global exposure. I also had the privilege of being the Africa Middle East Asia (AMEA) legal entities manager overseeing and supporting the legal entities and joint venture partnerships under the different Lafarge Holcim entities in AMEA.

I hold a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Strategy from the University of Edinburgh equips me with business acumen that allows me to integrate legal insights into the company’s broader strategic objectives, ensuring that legal operations are not merely a safeguard but a driver of competitive advantage.

Beyond my corporate experience, I serve on the Uganda Chamber of Energy and Minerals (UCEM), Sector Council for Mining as well as the Presidential Initiative Round Table (PIRT), where I contribute to shaping industry policies, advocating for sustainable operational practices, and engaging with government and private sector stakeholders on issues affecting the industry. This role has not only deepened my knowledge of Uganda’s extractives sector but has also enhanced my ability to drive policy dialogue, facilitate investor confidence, and support responsible initiatives.

The nomination to be recognised in the Legal 500 GC Power List is exciting and deeply aligned with my professional expertise and passion. I am eager to bring my proven leadership, legal acumen, and industry insights to this space.
