Career biography

Petra A. Winkler joined the Schindler Group in 2006 as senior legal counsel. Winkler held various positions in global legal and compliance before she was promoted group general counsel as of April 2019. She is a member of the board of directors of Schindler Holding, Hergiswil since 2022 and a member of the Compensation Committee since 2024.

Winkler joined the Swiss law firm Bär & Karrer in 2000, where she focused on corporate matters, including corporate govern-ance, corporate restructurings, capital markets, finance, real estate and M&A. Besides Switzerland, Petra also worked in London and Shanghai.

Winkler holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Bern, Switzerland and from New York University, New York City, USA. She has completed the Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in California, USA, and is a licensed attorney-at-law admitted to the bar in Bern, Switzerland.
