Career Biography

Roland J. Luchsinger has served as General Counsel and Head of Legal & Compliance at Raiffeisen Switzerland since 2018. Prior to joining Raiffeisen, he spent more than fifteen years at Zürcher Kantonalbank, following earlier positions at Homburger Attorneys-at-Law and the Aduno Group. Within Zürcher Kantonalbank, he held several key legal roles before being appointed Head of Financial Crime Compliance, a position he occupied for five years.

Luchsinger is an active member of the Swiss Banking Association’s Legal and Compliance Commission (Koreco) and has contributed to several of its expert working groups, including those on the CDB, sanctions compliance, and FATF/AMLA topics.

In parallel to his professional responsibilities, he serves as Module Head of the CAS Compliance in Financial Services program at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and frequently speaks at national financial industry conferences.

His academic and professional publications include contributions to the Stämpfli Handkommentar zum AMLA (notably Art. 9 AMLA), co-authorship of Handbuch Corporate Compliance (Helbing & Lichtenhahn) and Der Compliance Officer (Orell Füssli), as well as numerous specialised articles on compliance and financial regulation.

Luchsinger also serves as Vice President of the Swiss Association of Compliance Officers, promoting knowledge exchange, professional development, and networking within the compliance community across Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
