How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
During periods of instability, I see the general counsel as a strategic enabler of resilience. By driving governance frameworks that help leadership “connect the dots,” legal becomes a proactive force in risk management. My team supports supply chain resilience by securing long-term strategic sourcing while preserving tactical flexibility to adapt to short-term disruptions.
What are the main cases or transactions that you have been involved in recently?
Nestlé launched a CHF 2.5 bn. efficiency program over three years. I embedded legal counsels into all key workstreams to proactively identify roadblocks and co-develop solutions. This initiative not only drives business transformation but also challenges the legal function and enhances the function’s agility—working side-by-side with business leaders to drive its own efficiency.
With new ESG disclosure rules and EU supply chain due diligence standards affecting Switzerland, how is your legal team integrating sustainability into governance and daily operations, and what role does the general counsel play in shaping corporate strategy?
As general counsel global procurement, I help leadership navigate evolving ESG regulations and identify strategic opportunities for differentiation. Legal has enabled over 80 Nestlé investments aimed at reducing emissions in the supply chain, supported by our Climate Contract Catalogue, a modular toolkit with risk-based templates and negotiation guidance. We also lead the rollout of Nestlé’s Responsible Sourcing Core Requirements, deepening supplier engagement on human rights and environmental due diligence.
