Career Biography
Daduna Kokhreidze is the chief legal and contracts officer at FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers, where she leads the organisation’s global legal and contracts operations from its Geneva base. In this senior role, she is responsible for corporate governance, risk management, intellectual property, and the development and dissemination of FIDIC contract forms.
Kokhreidze combines deep specialist knowledge with global institutional leadership. With a legal background deeply rooted in construction, consulting engineering, and infrastructure, she is widely recognised as a leading expert in FIDIC contract forms and construction dispute avoidance and resolution. She brings both advisory and adjudicative experience, having advised on the use and interpretation of FIDIC standard forms, represented parties in negotiations, and served as dispute board member in FIDIC-type contracts.
A strong advocate for dispute avoidance, she has championed initiatives promoting early dispute prevention and proactive contract management. Since joining FIDIC, she has strengthened its contract positioning, overseen licensing arrangements with multilateral development banks, coordinated user community and stakeholder engagement, and worked closely with key committees on contract evolution and dispute avoidance frameworks. Her work ensures FIDIC’s contract suite remains robust, practical, and responsive to the evolving demands of global infrastructure delivery.
Her academic credentials include an MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution from King’s College London. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), a CEDR Accredited Mediator, and a member of the ADR Committee of the Geneva International Legal Association (GILA).
Prior to joining FIDIC in 2019, Kokhreidze was a partner at a prominent Georgian law firm, where she led the construction law practice from the firm’s founding in 2005, developing a dedicated practice focused on construction and FIDIC contracts. In parallel with her legal work, she founded and served as the first President of the Georgian Association of Consulting Engineers (ACEG). Under her leadership, ACEG united leading local and international consulting engineering firms, promoting high standards of professionalism, training, and ethics. During her tenure, ACEG expanded its membership, built strong partnerships, and joined the global engineering community as a national Member Association of FIDIC.
Among her notable contributions is the translation of the FIDIC Red Book (1999 edition) into Georgian — a milestone that extended the reach of FIDIC forms across the region.
An active contributor to the international construction law community, Kokhreidze is a regular speaker at major industry events and lectures on construction law and FIDIC contracts, reflecting her commitment to knowledge sharing and professional development.
In summary, Kokhreidze offers a rare combination of global institutional leadership, deep specialist knowledge of construction law, FIDIC contracts and dispute avoidance mechanisms, and hands-on experience in advising and adjudicating infrastructure projects. Her track record positions her as a leading professional in the construction and engineering realm, and a key influencer in the legal-contract interface of complex infrastructure delivery.
