Career Biography

I am the General Counsel of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. (Polish Railway Lines), during the company’s largest investment programme in its history (total value of procurement procedures in 2025 exceeding PLN 27bn), the liberalisation of the Polish railway market through granting access to new private operators and significant security challenges related to sabotage incidents targeting railway infrastructure.

I manage a legal department structured into seven specialised divisions and oversee the provision of legal services to the company’s headquarters and 26 regional organisational units across Poland. In 2025, the legal department managed approximately 150 legislative initiatives, conducted the largest mediation and settlement activity in the company’s history (27 settlements with a total value of PLN 900,168,449.62), and led strategic acquisitions, including the purchase of Cargotor, the infrastructure manager of Małaszewicze (a key logistics hub on the New Silk Road linking the EU with Asia).

I also serve as Chair of the Supervisory Board of Trakcja, a publicly listed construction and railway infrastructure company with extensive experience in building and modernising railway networks across Poland.

Prior to joining PKP PLK, I gained extensive experience in top-tier international and national law firms, advising on complex commercial, corporate, M&A, banking, and financial transactions. I have also served as in-house counsel in the new technology and energy sectors, including the space industry. Alongside my professional practice, I maintain an active academic profile. In 2018, the University of Warsaw awarded me the first-ever Ph.D. in space law in Poland (summa cum laude). I have studied and conducted research at over 25 international scientific centres (Stanford University, University of Florida, Freie Universität, Arbitration Academy, The Hague Academy of International Law, etc.), participated in projects commissioned by the Polish National Science Centre and the Polish Space Agency, and served as a member of the Polish delegation to the UN COPUOS Legal Subcommittee. I currently teach international environmental law and am leading a postdoctoral project on the legal framework for protecting space infrastructure as critical infrastructure.

I am active in the bar association, having served as a delegate to the National Bar Congress and created a platform integrating in-house lawyers from state-owned companies. I also initiated and organised the first Polish conference dedicated to lawyers from state-owned enterprises and co-founded PILA, the Polish Association of In-House Lawyers. Beyond this, I mentor young female lawyers and law students and co-host Zawód Prawniczka, a podcast focusing on career development, leadership, and work-life balance for legal professionals.

My work has been recognised through numerous distinctions, including being named among the Top 25 Women Lawyers in Business (Forbes Women) and the Top 50 Lawyers to Follow on LinkedIn. I was also awarded the title of a “lawyer hard to classify” in the Rising Stars Lawyers ranking by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
