How do you build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders,
especially in high-pressure or fast-moving scenarios?
The key is undoubtedly communication. It must be consistent, not only during difficult situations but also in times of stability. This ongoing dialogue builds trust and helps us understand how each team member works. In high-pressure or fast-paced scenarios, that foundation of trust and communication becomes essential to identify root causes and develop effective solutions. Teamwork must always take priority.
Additionally, having a clear understanding of what other departments are doing contributes to a stronger, more collaborative work environment. This cross-functional awareness allows issues to be addressed more quickly and efficiently.
What do you consider the biggest challenge for in-house legal teams today, and how
are you addressing it within your own team?
The biggest challenge for in-house legal teams today is adapting to Legaltech, legal operations, legal design and other related innovations. These technologies make it possible to automate repetitive tasks, some of which may not require legal expertise, digitise various processes, and help close the gap between legal language and the understanding of those outside the legal profession.
Within our team, we use digital tools to track judicial proceedings, automate internal workflows, sign contracts electronically, follow up on client communications and monitor legal documentation. As the company continues to grow, we are developing and expanding these tools to meet our evolving requirements.
How do you cultivate legal talent internally, and what skills do you see as most
essential for the next generation of in-house lawyers?
Internally, we review the main legislation published each day, placing emphasis on those provisions applicable to the company. Similarly, in every case that arises, there is always a legal component, which is assessed by the responsible team member. Once the immediate queries are addressed, the legal team shares the matter, reviews the relevant regulations and discusses the issue from a legal perspective. This ensures that, should a similar matter occur in future, the entire team is well-prepared to respond.
We also aim to hold monthly legal sessions with the full team, to stay updated on areas of law that may not arise in our day-to-day work but are nonetheless fundamental to legal practice.
In terms of skills, I believe the most essential is a sound understanding of new technologies, which will undoubtedly make legal work more efficient. In addition, knowledge of the business and collaboration with cross-functional teams will lead to more agile responses and ensure that all relevant elements of the company’s operations are taken into account when developing solutions.
