Career Biography
Luis Marcio Torales is a Paraguayan attorney with over a decade of experience advising domestic and international clients on complex corporate, financial, and regulatory matters. He holds an LL.M. from the University of Chicago and a law degree from the Universidad Nacional de Asunción.
He has led high-impact transactions across the agribusiness, energy, infrastructure, pulp, pharmaceutical, and financial sectors. His representative matters include advising the sponsors of the Paracel pulp mill project in Paraguay, where he led the negotiation of core project documents, including EPC contracts, long-term supply agreements, and infrastructure arrangements—helping lay the contractual foundation for one of the country’s most significant industrial developments. Other key engagements include leading the legal execution of strategic acquisitions in Paraguay’s agribusiness market, involving private equity structures, asset and share deals, and secured trust arrangements.
Before joining Casa Boller as general counsel on May 7, 2025, he was a senior associate at Ferrere Abogados and Vouga Abogados, two of Paraguay’s leading law firms. He also practiced internationally at Philippi, Prietocarrizosa, Ferrero DU & Uría in Santiago, Chile, and at Baker & Hostetler LLP in Washington D.C., where he focused on international litigation and arbitration. At Casa Boller, he leads all legal affairs of the company and supports its institutional development and compliance efforts in the healthcare sector.
Luis Marcio is also a cofounder of the Asociación Paraguaya de Estudio sobre Defensa de la Competencia (APEDEC) and is listed as an arbitrator at the Centro de Arbitraje y Mediación Paraguay (CAMP).”
