Catherine So is the General Counsel, Senior Vice President, at Tiffany & Co., where she leads the legal and compliance functions for the iconic global luxury jeweler. In her role, she oversees all legal and compliance matters for Tiffany & Co. Founded in 1837 in New York City, Tiffany & Co. operates more than 300 retail stores worldwide and employs over 14,000 individuals, including over 3,000 skilled artisans who cut Tiffany diamonds and craft jewelry in Tiffany’s own workshops.
Before joining Tiffany & Co., Catherine held roles of increasing responsibility with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, in areas ranging from employment law to securities litigation. She also served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division for the Eastern District of New York. She began her legal career at Debevoise & Plimpton, where she practiced in both New York and Hong Kong, after serving as a judicial clerk for the Honorable J.L. Edmondson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Catherine earned her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and her B.A. in English from Columbia College. Catherine is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Women Lawyers and the Board of Trustees of the Madison Square Park Conservancy.
