Nadia Kawtar Alaoui

Head of Group Legal | Azura Group

With over two decades of experience across Europe and Morocco, Nadia Kawtar Alaoui, a legal professional, is renowned for her strategic acumen, operational leadership, and cross-border legal expertise. As a member of the Paris Bar currently residing in Casablanca, she brings a multicultural perspective to every challenge she faces.

Currently General Counsel at Azura Group, a major international player in the agri-food sector, Nadia has built and leads a dynamic legal department serving more than 50 entities across Morocco, Spain, France, Germany, and the UK. She advises executive leadership on a wide range of legal matters, from governance to investment operations, and serves as Board Secretary and a member of the Executive Committee, Ethics Committee, and Investment Committee.

Her achievements include the full creation and structuring of the Group’s legal function, implementation of a contract management system, drafting of internal legal procedures, and contribution to risk mapping and compliance programmes.

Before joining Azura, Nadia spent five years at Al Mada, the largest Moroccan private investment fund, where she managed a team of eight. As Corporate Secretary and regular guest at Board meetings, she was deeply involved in strategic governance, the legal structuring of investments and divestments, and sensitive litigation. She initiated the department’s digital transformation and established regular legal watch and compliance audits.

Prior to moving in-house, Nadia practised law for over a decade in Paris. She was a partner at BSA Dumon Partners, advising on private equity transactions and fundraising structures. At Grant Thornton Société d’Avocats, as a senior manager, she led a corporate team overseeing legal compliance for 400 companies, conducted legal due diligence processes, and supported major corporate restructurings and foreign investments in France. She began her legal career in the M&A teams of prestigious firms such as Hoche Avocats and Watson Farley & Williams, handling acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, debt renegotiations, and post-closing litigation for French companies and investment funds.

Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a talent for building strong teams, bridging legal and business strategies, and adapting to rapidly evolving regulatory environments.

Her education includes a business law degree from Panthéon-Assas, a master’s in business administration from HEC Montréal, and a recent executive programme in leadership from Harvard Business School.

Beyond her corporate work, Nadia is committed to mentoring and civic engagement. She has supported law students through the Cercle Marocain des Directions Juridiques and volunteered for over a decade with Droits d’Urgence, assisting undocumented immigrants in regularising their status.

Multilingual in French, Arabic, English, and Spanish, Nadia navigates multicultural environments with ease and diplomacy. Her personal interests – yoga, piano, and photography – reflect her discipline, creativity, and sense of balance.

She combines legal expertise with cultural intelligence, discretion, and a results-oriented mindset. Nadia brings a unique mix of legal rigour, strategic vision, and ethical leadership to every organisation she supports. She is a trusted partner to executives and boards alike, with a proven track record in aligning legal strategy with business success.
