In periods of instability, I prioritize maintaining calm, disciplined judgment while moving quickly to identify practical solutions. I start by assessing risk through the applicable legislation and our existing legal documentation, ensuring we leverage contractual protections, regulatory flexibilities, and precedent to frame clear options. In parallel, I engage closely with the commercial and finance teams to fully understand operational pressures, revenue implications, liquidity constraints, and stakeholder expectations. I also translate legalese into clear, business-ready language and, when useful, facilitate or support direct commercial communications so that negotiations remain constructive and on track. I facilitate open, structured conversations across functions to surface concerns and assumptions, align on risk tolerance, and co-design actionable paths forward. Throughout, I emphasize that we are one team, and the legal function is here to guide, enable, and protect—not to obstruct—by delivering clear, pragmatic recommendations that can be executed under time pressure.

What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

In the past months, I have led and supported a range of cross‑border infrastructure and energy transactions, as well as ongoing asset management matters. These include the closing of the acquisition of a gas pipeline in Mexico, the closing of the divestment of a Mexican telecommunications network, and the signing of the acquisition of a toll road platform in Brazil. I have also participated in the preparation and negotiation of legal documentation for potential asset acquisitions across the region. In addition to M&A and on the asset management side, I handle day‑to‑day legal matters for operating assets, including, among others, the repayment of a senior loan and a refinancing.
