Career Biography

I lead Schneider Electric’s business legal team in Europe with a clear belief: the best teams aren’t just put together – they’re grown.

Over the past 17 years, I’ve had the privilege of building this function from the ground up. Today, we’re over 90 strong, supporting operations across 48 countries, with legal professionals based in 21.

It’s a team of big personalities, diverse backgrounds and cultures, and shared values. We work hard, challenge and support each other – and we laugh a lot.

Helping the team grow – not just in numbers, but also in confidence, skills, and character – is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. I thrive on seeing people take bold bets in their careers and succeed in unexpected ways.

We encourage innovative thinking, embrace challenges, and support each other through the ups and downs. Seeing people find their feet and fly is a privilege. The team is focused on enabling smart decision-making, building resilience, and driving impact across the business. We prioritise collaboration and transparency, creating space for ideas to take shape and for people to do great things together. Legal shouldn’t sit on the sidelines or in an ivory tower – we need to be in the thick of things, making an impact and helping shape the way forward. That means understanding how the business works, moving at speed, and building a culture of trust and adaptability.

Before joining Schneider Electric in 2008, I gained deep tech sector experience at Microsoft, Ascential Software/IBM, and TIBCO Software. I began my legal career at SEEBOARD plc (now EDF Energy) during its privatisation, where I developed expertise across energy, construction, public procurement, IT and governance – all in a highly regulated environment.

Those early years gave me a broad view, sharpened my instincts, and taught me to stay curious, open-minded, and resilient. They also instilled a strong focus on building trust and navigating complexity with clarity.

I’ve had brilliant mentors, and I try to pay that forward. I trained and qualified as a solicitor in England, where I lived and worked until 2008 when I moved to Ireland – having married a fine Tipperary man. I traded London traffic for the charm of the West and have no regrets. I’m registered as a solicitor in both Ireland and the UK, which has been invaluable in navigating the twists and turns of European legal work – especially post-Brexit.

My leadership style is direct, honest, and grounded in fairness and dignity. I’m part of the team but don’t shy away from tough decisions. I prioritise making space for people to grow, for ideas to flourish, and for teams to thrive. And I make sure to recognise and celebrate their accomplishments. Being selected for the Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Ireland 2025 is a real honour – but the true privilege is working with an extraordinary group of people who make an impact every day.
