Career Biography
Florian Döring began his career at Linklaters LLP, where he worked for approximately five years in the Corporate M&A department in Frankfurt before joining the private equity firm Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG) as General Counsel in 2012.
Since then, he has led negotiations in numerous M&A deals for the DBAG funds. He has had a significant impact on the organisation by introducing standardised approaches to large parts of the investment process.
He has also developed substantial expertise in private equity fund structuring, fund negotiations, and regulatory matters, leading various fundraising efforts, including DBAG’s most recent €1.1 billion flagship fund and, most recently, the firm’s first continuation fund.
In recent years, he has spearheaded strategic projects for the firm as a whole, such as establishing the Milan and Luxembourg offices and overseeing the strategic acquisition of a majority stake in the debt fund sponsor ELF.
In his private life, he is the co-founder and head of Metality, a charitable organisation within the heavy metal scene that has, since its inception in 2020, grown to more than 60 chapters, primarily in Germany but also across Europe, the US, Latin America, and North Africa. The charity helps disabled people attend concerts, sponsors instruments and lessons for children, collects sleeping bags for homeless people, supports underground music festivals, and raises awareness of mental health issues.
