Career Biography

As Corporate General Counsel of PRONACA, one of the leading food industry groups in Ecuador and Panama with more than 10,000 employees, I oversee legal strategy and corporate governance across Ecuador, Panama, and the United States. I am responsible for supporting PRONACA’s sustainable growth by enabling business initiatives and managing legal risk in an agile, responsible, and strategic manner within complex and highly regulated markets.

With more than 14 years of experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial dispute resolution. My professional background includes work in leading law firms, as well as in-house roles across the industrial, commercial, and retail sectors. This dual perspective has allowed me to combine strong technical expertise with a practical, business-oriented approach, delivering clear and solution-driven legal advice aligned with corporate strategy.

Since joining PRONACA one year ago, I lead a legal team of eight lawyers, five in Ecuador and three in Panama, strengthening alignment, efficiency, and coordination across jurisdictions. My priority has been to position the legal department as a proactive business partner, ensuring that legal analysis is integrated early into strategic discussions and decision-making processes.

PRONACA is currently undergoing an important corporate evolution process, and the legal department plays a central advisory role in this transformation. I provide strategic legal advice to business units, supporting growth initiatives, corporate structuring, governance improvements, and legal risk management.

I am leading the modernisation and digital transformation of the legal department. This initiative includes the digitalisation of legal documentation, the implementation of structured systems to monitor and track legal requirements, and the simplification of internal complexity across jurisdictions. It also focuses on standardising contracts, processes, and policies to ensure consistency, transparency, and operational efficiency. By improving contract lifecycle management, enhancing process efficiency, strengthening data visibility, and increasing corporate legal coordination, we are building a more agile, structured, and performance-driven legal department capable of supporting strategic growth rather than concentrating solely on operational tasks.

By promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, I ensure that the legal team delivers timely, practical, and business-focused advice.
