How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

Volatility and uncertainty are constants in our work. That’s why legal management cannot be limited to regulatory analysis alone—it must incorporate a global perspective that considers, among other things, geopolitical, technological, climate, and regulatory variables. This broader view allows the legal function to go beyond risk management and into the identification and realisation of opportunities that arise in times of instability and change.

With a possibilist mindset and a deep understanding of competitive strategy, we design sustainable legal approaches that drive profitable growth and shared prosperity. We are not a support function—we are a strategic capability that strengthens our business value proposition.

That’s why I foster teams that innovate, integrate emerging technologies, and understand the environment as an interconnected system of trends, challenges, and opportunities. Our purpose is clear: to mobilise the law to shape the future—not just to comply with it.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

Generative AI has become a powerful ally in automating tasks, analysing large volumes of data, and enhancing the management of legal issues. Far from replacing our work, it amplifies it—freeing up time for lawyers to focus on strategy and value creation. In our team, we are actively integrating it through agents, specialised search engines, alert systems, and other tools that expand our capabilities.

Quantum computing, though still in its early stages for legal practice, holds tremendous potential to revolutionise cryptography, safeguard digital evidence, and reinforce contract security. Alongside blockchain, it will help strengthen document integrity and accelerate the widespread adoption of smart contracts beyond the financial sector.

To stay up to date, I combine continuous learning—through strong networks, publications, courses, and case studies—with weekly conversations on emerging technologies within the executive team. Curiosity, constant experimentation, active listening, and knowledge-sharing have become key not only to keeping pace with change—but to staying ahead of it.
