What are the key projects that you have been involved in over the past 12 months?

The centralisation of three divisional legal departments into one headquarter legal department and establishing group wide legal and compliance standards throughout the group with more than 100 companies in more than 30 countries, e.g. regarding Trade Compliance processes, Whistleblowing processes, GDPRs policies, etc.

What do you think are the most important attributes for a modern in-house counsel to possess?

Being open to new technologies, being innovative in establishing new approaches for legal advice and always striving to enable compliant and sustainable business.

How can general counsel foster a corporate culture that supports ESG principles and compliance across all levels of the organisation?

Make the team understand that ESG principles and compliance is not a trend, but a business enabler and a potential USP in the competition for sustainable business opportunities.
