What are the most significant cases, projects, or transactions that you and your legal team have recently been involved in?
This year, our Legal and Contracts team has taken the main role in coordinating with technical, finance, and other specialist teams to negotiate and execute contracts with a total new signing value of over VND 7 trillion. In addition, we have taken the lead in managing dispute resolution through mediation, the courts, and arbitration at VIAC. By Q3/2025, we had achieved an almost 100% success rate in both mediation and litigation, recovering substantial outstanding debts and successfully concluding long-standing disputes.
What do you think are the most important attributes for a modern in-house counsel to possess?
Strategic thinking, strong risk management, flexibility and the ability to stay up to date with changes
Based on your experiences in the past year, are there any trends in the legal or business world that you are keeping an eye on that you think other in-house lawyers should be mindful of?
Vietnam’s legal landscape has been undergoing significant changes. A lot of core laws — like those on public procurement, land, housing, and real estate — are being revised. This is creating new challenges and opportunities, so it’s essential to stay on top of the changes. At the same time, there’s a growing push for projects to meet stricter ESG and sustainability standards. To keep up with all these shifts, digital transformation has become a must-have, with more legal teams using technology to manage contracts and data to boost efficiency.
