Career Biography

Joaquin is a member of the SURA Asset Management Executive Committee and serves as Corporate Secretary, Chief Legal Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Enterprise Risk Officer, and Chief Information Technology Officer.

He leads a multidisciplinary team of lawyers, certified public accountants, risk managers, engineers, and IT professionals from Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, Luxembourg, and the US, across two business units: Pension Fund Managers and Investment Management, which includes wealth management, corporate solutions, and Asset Management. His responsibilities encompass legal, M&A, compliance, corporate governance, enterprise risk, and information technology matters. Joaquin is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of AFAP SURA in Uruguay and a member of the Board of Directors of AFORE SURA in Mexico.
