I have been involved in navigating and responding to inquiries or potential issues related to evolving healthcare compliance rules and regulations from both internal sources (e.g., Healthcare Compliance guidelines from Global / Regional) and external bodies (e.g., the Thai Medical Device Technology Industry Association (“Thaimed”). This includes ensuring compliance with new regulations pertaining to medical devices, pharmaceutical, scientific affairs, sponsorship, product presentation, and other healthcare activities.

I have been instrumental in negotiating and drafting significant commercial agreements and various other service agreements critical to the operations. These transactions frequently involve intricate legal and commercial considerations.

How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

I have managed legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis is a critical function that supports the organisation’s resilience and continuity. My approach is multifaceted, grounded in proactivity, agility, and strong cross-functional collaboration. I prioritize early identification of risks and legal vulnerabilities through consistent policy and contract reviews, including the careful analysis of force majeure and termination clauses. This allows us to assess whether obligations can be adjusted or excused under exceptional circumstances, and to guide the business in structuring appropriate communications with partners and counterparties.

I also provide legal support in renegotiating or amending impacted agreements, aiming to maintain relationships while securing business interests. In parallel, I work closely with HR to ensure employee-related matters—comply with Thai labor law, especially when headcount or role adjustments are unavoidable due to the crisis.

Participating in scenario planning and business continuity exercises is another cornerstone of the approach. Legal risk assessments are integrated into these processes to prepare pre-emptive strategies, including template agreements and emergency clauses, which can be activated swiftly. I play an active role in ensuring that any response to disruption is legally sound, operationally efficient, and aligned with the organisation’s long-term objectives.

I’m passionate about advancing ethical practices and compliance integrity within the healthcare industry. Working in a healthcare company that is deeply committed to improving patient outcomes and enhancing healthcare delivery has shown me the vital role compliance plays in protecting patient safety and building trust with stakeholders.

I believe that upholding high legal and ethical standards in healthcare is not just a regulatory requirement, it’s a moral responsibility. Ensuring that business operations align with applicable laws, local and international standards, and ethical values directly impacts the well-being of patients and the credibility of the healthcare system. This alignment motivates me daily, as I know my work contributes to a greater cause: delivering safe, effective, and responsible healthcare solutions.
