Career biography

Nicole Patsch joined Chain IQ Group AG in 2014 as Group General Counsel & Company Secretary. In this role, she is acting as chief legal and governance adviser to the board and the executive team, with global responsibility for legal risk management, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, ensuring robust board effectiveness, transparent shareholder engagement, and providing strategic, commercially focused counsel to enable sustainable business growth.

She has been leading the legal, compliance, and governance function at Chain IQ since its inception in 2014 and has been instrumental in establishing and developing the entire legal, compliance, and governance function from the ground up. As the founding architect of these critical areas, she successfully built a robust legal and governance framework that supports the company’s global operations, ensuring regulatory alignment, risk mitigation, and corporate integrity across jurisdictions. Her leadership and strategic foresight have been pivotal in shaping a resilient and forward-looking governance structure, enabling the company to grow with confidence and resilience in a complex international environment.

Prior to joining Chain IQ, she held various senior leadership roles at UBS and Credit Suisse, where she led high-performing teams of up to 120 professionals across Legal & Compliance (Head Shared Service Legal Team), Supply Management (Head Supply Management Switzerland), and IT Infrastructure (COO Infrastructure Switzerland, Head Service Provider Management).

Her ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and drive operational excellence across functions has been a hallmark of her career. Among her notable achievements, she was recognised at Credit Suisse as the legal subject matter expert for e-business during the early wave of digital transformation, contributing to the development of legal frameworks for emerging technologies. Nicole is also a seasoned leader and mentor, having successfully built and guided global teams across Romania, India, and the US, fostering collaboration and delivering results in dynamic, multicultural environments.

Nicole Patsch holds a Law Degree from the University of Bonn, Germany, and from Université de Lyon, France, and is admitted to the Bars of the District Court Stuttgart. In addition to that, she has successfully completed an Executive Education Programme at London Business School.
