Yi Lyn is General Counsel at Twin Towers Ventures (TTV), the corporate venture capital arm of PETRONAS. Yi Lyn works with the TTV leadership team to navigate the various legal aspects of the management and operations of the TTV fund, including fund structuring, implementation of internal governance frameworks and compliance processes, and stakeholder management and reporting. Yi Lyn also drives and leads the legal aspects of all TTV’s investments, including investments in Singapore, Indonesia, India, China and Australia, in companies that are developing and pioneering promising new technologies in the renewable energy, decarbonisation, hydrogen and mobility space.

Yi Lyn commenced her legal practice at in the Kuala Lumpur office of Baker McKenzie. Prior to joining TTV, Yi Lyn was regional counsel at 500 Global, a global venture capital firm headquartered in Silicon Valley, overseeing legal, regulatory compliance and tax structuring aspects of 500 Global’s funds and operations in Asia Pacific.

Yi Lyn has extensive experience working alongside fund managers and key commercial stakeholders through all stages of a fund’s lifecycle. Yi Lyn has advised and supported funds in Delaware, Cayman Islands, Korea Singapore, Malaysia and Labuan in navigating the fund structuring aspects, fundraising and fund closing, including supporting fund managers in securing investments from institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds and pension funds. Yi Lyn has also advised and supported the closing of a large range of investments in the VC and growth space, ranging from seed to Series E investments across the APAC region.

Yi Lyn develops and oversees the implementation of the internal regulatory and compliance frameworks for the funds she has worked with. This includes identifying key policies and compliance requirements, drafting the required policy documentation, and devising and operationalising the policy and compliance program rollouts throughout the organization.
