Career Biography
Turki Alsharif is the General Manager of Legal and GRC at a newly formed but high-impact government development authority in Saudi Arabia. With over 13 years of legal experience, he has built a career around helping organisations make smarter decisions legally, strategically, and operationally.
Throughout his journey, Alsharif has worked on some incredibly rewarding and challenging matters. He played a key legal role in a major M&A transaction within the energy sector and successfully led a high-stakes dispute defense that helped his organisation avoid more than $50m in potential losses, a moment he considers a turning point in his career.
Currently, Alsharif is helping lay the foundations of the legal and GRC function at his organisation. He’s involved in everything from shaping internal policies to embedding risk and compliance into broader strategy. It’s a hands-on role with wide responsibilities; the kind of challenge he thrives on.
Beyond the legal work itself, Alsharif is passionate about building strong teams and mentoring young professionals. He believes legal departments shouldn’t just protect the business they should enable it. For him, the best legal leaders are those who understand the business from the inside out.
To build on that belief, he’s currently pursuing an Executive MBA at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). Balancing legal leadership with business education has given him a broader perspective on risk, value, and leadership, and made him even more committed to developing legal teams that think commercially and act strategically.
Alsharif is grateful for the mentors, teams, and opportunities that shaped his path, and excited about what’s ahead.
