What are the most significant cases and/or transactions that you have been involved in over the past year?

Over the past year, I have successfully led several strategic initiatives, including overseeing the legal structuring of GASCO’s corporate carve-out projects and managing complex regulatory compliance programs related to the Capital Market Authority. I also played a key role in defending major labor cases during the business separation phase, securing favorable rulings for the company. Additionally, I supervised the development and update of the company’s governance and compliance frameworks to align with listed company standards.

What innovations have you made to the way your legal team works in the past year?

We introduced a streamlined contract management system and implemented clear operational guidelines to expedite legal reviews without compromising quality. Additionally, we fostered cross-functional training among legal, governance, and compliance teams to ensure a more agile and knowledgeable department capable of handling multi-disciplinary challenges.

Based on your experience, what is the key to collaborating successfully with business partners?

Clear communication, mutual respect for each party’s expertise, and early legal involvement in business processes are key. Building trust by offering pragmatic legal solutions that support strategic goals has been essential in creating strong and effective partnerships across all business units.

What do you think are the key things to remember to motivate and manage the other members of your legal team?

Recognising individual contributions, providing growth opportunities, and maintaining open communication channels are fundamental. It’s important to lead by example, empower team members with responsibility, and create an environment where they feel valued and supported.
