Career Biography 

Dr. Mohammad Alwaheed is a seasoned legal executive and governance leader with 18 years of experience. As Chief Legal and GRC Officer at Osool Integrated Real Estate Company — an integrated property management company with a sizable real estate portfolio — he oversees all legal, governance, risk, and compliance functions. Known for promoting integrity and accountability, he ensures alignment with local regulations and global best practices, resolving complex legal challenges with a strategic focus on organisational growth. 

In this role, Dr. Alwaheed spearheaded the creation of Osool’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework, developing governance policies, charters, and procedures. He also guided Osool’s cybersecurity strategy, embedding a culture of proactive risk management. Through collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams, he has bolstered compliance awareness at every level, ensuring Osool’s operational resilience. By instituting structured risk ownership and clear reporting channels, he fosters an environment where potential threats are identified and mitigated. He elevates best practices organisation-wide. 

Overseeing a wide array of significant legal matters, Dr. Alwaheed ensures that every case complies with rigorous internal standards and ethical guidelines. He has introduced standardised agreement templates, optimised document-review protocols, and promoted data-driven decision-making, thus reinforcing transparency across Osool’s operations. By ensuring efficient collaboration with business units across Osool, he streamlines communication between departments, significantly mitigating disputes before they escalate. This integrated approach to legal management has not only substantially improved efficiency, but also strengthened Osool’s standing within the real estate sector. 

Since 2021, Dr. Alwaheed has also served as Senior Legal Advisor to H.E. the Minister of Investment, offering strategic counsel on investment and regulatory affairs. In this capacity, he represents the Ministry before governmental agencies and regulatory authorities, ensuring alignment with overarching policy objectives. He chairs multiple grievance committees, leveraging his judicial expertise to maintain a fair and transparent process. By orchestrating legal strategies that anticipate potential pitfalls, Dr. Alwaheed safeguards Ministry’s interests and fortifies its reputation within a rapidly evolving broader legal landscape. 

Dr. Alwaheed also serves as a board member at the Saudi Real Estate Arbitration Center, leveraging his broad legal background to guide dispute resolution strategies and promote streamlined processes.  

Previously, Dr. Alwaheed was Senior Counsel and Head of In-Kingdom Litigation at Saudi Aramco, where he was instrumental in expanding the litigation department’s capabilities and represented Saudi Aramco before government bodies, judicial forums, and committees. In this role, Dr. Alwaheed argued several complex cases before the Supreme Court and the Administrative Supreme Court.  

Earlier, he served as a Judge at the Board of Grievances, presiding over administrative, commercial, and criminal cases, thereby refining his unique perspective on legal and regulatory issues. 

Dr. Alwaheed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Shariah from Umm Al-Qura and a High Diploma in Law from the Institute of Public Administration, establishing his roots in both Islamic and conventional legal principles. He later earned a Master of Laws (LLM) and a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) from Suffolk University. Driven by a commitment to excellence, he leverages these credentials, along with his practical background, to guide Osool’s strategic decisions and maintain the highest standards of governance, risk management, and compliance.
