What are the most significant cases and/or transactions that you have been involved in over the past year? 

Over the past year, I played an instrumental role in shaping and leading the legal framework behind Saudi Arabia’s first-ever Cultural Financing Programme – an innovative national financing initiative launched in August 2024 in collaboration with five of the Kingdom’s largest banks. The programme was developed to unlock financing for the country’s emerging cultural sector and represents a major milestone in Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation agenda. I led the development of the legal architecture, structured complex agreements, and drove negotiations that set a new precedent in the cultural sector.

In addition, I successfully led the legal negotiations and financial close of the Cultural Development Fund’s participation as a major investor in the Saudi Film Fund. Launched in February 2024, this significant initiative is aimed at spurring growth in the national film industry and promoting the production of high-quality local content.

Based on your experience, what is the key to collaborating successfully with business partners?   

To me, the key is clear communication and a practical mindset. I focus on understanding the partner’s goals, identifying shared interests and building alignment early on. It is not about pushing legal positions, it is about creating solutions that work for both sides.

What do you think are the key things to remember to motivate and manage the other members of your legal team?  

I feel the most important thing is building trust and giving people space to take ownership. I have found that when team members understand the bigger picture and feel their input genuinely matters, they’re far more motivated. I aim to set clear expectations, provide the right context and then give them the autonomy to deliver. That mix of support and independence goes a long way in keeping people engaged and performing at their best.
