Career Biography
Christian Alfonso Ríos Holguín is Corporate Legal and Compliance Affairs Manager at Universidad Continental, and as of 2025, he also serves as the institution’s General Secretary. With more than 15 years of professional experience, he has built a solid career both as an independent legal consultant and within the education and financial sectors.
Holguín specialises in corporate law, higher education regulation, and labor law. At Universidad Continental, he has led the implementation of a corporate crime prevention model, working closely with external law firms and reviewing internal documentation to ensure legal coherence and institutional alignment. He has also played a key role in developing robust policies in areas such as consumer protection, advertising, and data privacy.
His expertise extends to the negotiation, drafting, and review of a wide range of complex contracts. In the field of labour law, he has overseen disciplinary proceedings, employee termination negotiations, and compliance with internal workplace conduct policies, including regulations related to sexual harassment in higher education settings.
He earned his Law degree from Universidad de Piura, graduating first in his class. He holds a Master’s in Finance and Corporate Law from Universidad ESAN, and completed a diploma in Finance and European Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Throughout his academic journey, he received several honors, including awards for legal essays and academic excellence, reflecting his early commitment to legal research.
He is the author of various articles published in prestigious Peruvian legal journals such as Gaceta Jurídica, Diálogo con la Jurisprudencia, Actualidad Jurídica, among others.
Christian is widely recognised for his preventive legal approach, solid institutional judgment, and deep understanding of Peru’s regulatory landscape in the education sector.
