Career Biography

Edward Imoedemhe has over 27 years of legal experience in manufacturing, telecommunications, oil & gas, and shipping. His expertise includes company secretarial practice, contract management, governance, insurance, dispute resolution, and international transactions. He has provided strategic legal counsel to executive management and boards at Dangote Group.   

He earned an LL. B from the University of Benin, where he received an Alumni Association excellence award, and a master’s in Maritime and Commercial Law from Lagos State University. He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, and the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria. His achievements include being listed in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist for 2024 and 2025.   

Mr. Imoedemhe is currently the Company Secretary of Dangote Cement PLC, having served as Acting Company Secretary and General Counsel since November 21, 2022, after being Deputy Company Secretary and Legal Adviser from June 29, 2018. He also acts as Company Secretary for Dangote Industries Limited and other DCP Group subsidiaries.   

His position reflects the Company’s confidence in his leadership and legal acumen. His broad expertise in legal, governance and corporate affairs will continue to strengthen compliance, enhance governance structures, and support Dangote Cement Plc’s long-term strategic growth.
