What are the key projects that you have been involved in over the past 12 months?

Over the past 12 months, I have focused on several high-impact projects combining product launches, compliance, and innovation.

I led the integration of AI into company workflows, from content production to internal processes. This involved creating a company-wide AI policy that balanced innovation with legal and ethical safeguards, with particular attention to intellectual property — taking all reasonable steps to avoid infringement by AI-generated assets and setting up strong data protection protocols.

I actively worked with the team on releasing new mobile games, ensuring compliance with EU and US regulations and platform-specific guidelines. We embedded preventive measures early in development, avoiding costly post-launch changes.

Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting?

One of the most unique experiences in my career was leading the recent integration of AI technologies into our operational workflows while simultaneously developing a comprehensive AI policy framework. This framework addressed a wide range of legal aspects, including intellectual property rights, data protection, and cross-jurisdictional compliance obligations. The challenge was to enable the business to innovate quickly while implementing robust safeguards to mitigate legal risks. It required close collaboration with product and technology teams, as well as proactive monitoring of emerging regulatory trends in the EU, US, and other relevant markets. This project stood out because it combined highly technical issues with fast-paced commercial demands, demonstrating that legal support can be both a risk shield and a growth accelerator.

What do you think are the most important attributes for a modern in-house counsel to possess?

In my view, a modern in-house counsel must go beyond the traditional role of a legal advisor and act as a true problem shooter. This means working at the intersection of law, analytics, finance, and crisis management, delivering solutions that are legally sound, commercially viable, and operationally practical. The ability to adapt quickly to shifting market and regulatory landscapes ensures the business can respond effectively to challenges and opportunities. Technological literacy and commercial awareness allow legal advice to be integrated into strategic decision-making. Above all, the role demands the capacity to anticipate risks before they materialise and to design solutions that keep the company resilient, compliant, and competitive.

What is a cause, business or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

I am passionate about the gaming industry because it brings together creative, driven people who thrive on challenges, and this energy is equally reflected in its legal community. I take great pride in being part of this community. I enjoy contributing to the wider professional community by speaking at industry conferences, participating in panel discussions, and engaging with peers from different backgrounds. This exchange of knowledge keeps me inspired, sharpens my skills, and allows me to give back to the industry I truly care about.
