Career Biography
Noémie Wallaert is a legal and compliance professional with over 20 years of experience in law firms and then in a legal department in the distribution sector.
Wallaert has been working at Decathlon for over 15 years, where she currently holds the position of Group Legal and Compliance Director. In this role, she heads up the central legal and compliance team, which is responsible for areas such as distribution law, competition law, intellectual property, data protection, business ethics, etc. She also leads the global legal and compliance department, which has more than 330 members. Her responsibilities at Decathlon have evolved over time; she began by working on mergers and acquisitions before being entrusted with developing the company’s anti-corruption programme, and then taking on her current role.
She began her career at PwC Société d’Avocats, where she worked for nine years in mergers and acquisitions and corporate law before heading up the legal team in Lille. Wallaert also contributes to the legal community as a director of the French Association of Corporate Lawyers (AFJE).
