Career biography
Experienced legal executive and dedicated business partner with a demonstrated history in the building materials, industrial and financial sectors, with over 20 years’ experience in M&A, litigation management, intellectual property, corporate and securities law, corporate governance and compliance.
Currently General Counsel and member of the Executive Committee of Saint-Gobain’s Northern Europe Region – covering the UK, Germany, the Nordics and Baltics, and Central Europe – Sandrine works closely with the general managers and operational teams in the construction, infrastructure, distribution and industrial solutions businesses to manage risk and contribute to value creation while ensuring compliance with the law and Saint-Gobain Group’s ethics and values. A strong business partner focused on solutions, she and her team bring legal and compliance expertise to support the countries’ and business units’ development, with a strong focus on M&A, litigation management, intellectual property, corporate and commercial matters, anti-dumping proceedings, corporate governance and compliance (antitrust, anti-bribery, trade). The Northern Europe Region generated around €12 billion in revenue in 2024.
Sandrine Elbaz Rousso served as General Counsel and member of the Executive Committee of the High-Performance Solutions Division between 2021 and 1 July 2025, supporting six business units (Mobility, Performance Polymer Solutions, Ceramics, Abrasives, Construction Chemicals and Construction Fabrics) focused on green industry, innovation and co-development, with a total turnover of €10 billion in 2024.
She also served for five years (2019–2024) as a member of the Enforcement Committee of the French Financial Markets Authority, ruling on cases of insider dealing, market manipulation and financial communication, as well as on cases concerning compliance by investment service providers with their professional obligations.
Sandrine Elbaz Rousso spent almost ten years at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP as a member of the Paris Bar, advising listed and private companies and specialising in large-cap and mid-cap M&A transactions, IPOs, financing, restructuring and regulatory matters.
She holds master’s degrees from Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne and ESSEC Business School in France, and participated in the MBA programme at Duke University, North Carolina, USA. She is also active in alumni and professional associations.
