Career biography

Mark Turyamureba serves as the Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at ATC Uganda Limited, where he also holds the position of Company Secretary. In this dual role, he is responsible for providing strategic legal counsel to the company, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, overseeing risk management, and ensuring regulatory compliance. He also leads the company’s Public Affairs function.

Before joining ATC in 2018, Mark began his legal career as an Associate in the Corporate Advisory team at MMAKS Advocates, one of Uganda’s premier law firms.

He has undertaken secondments with leading law firms including Anjarwalla & Khanna in Nairobi and Slaughter and May in London. Mark has also contributed to the profession through his involvement with the Uganda Law Society, serving as a member of its In-House Lawyers Committee.

Academically, Mark holds a Master’s degree in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge, a Postgraduate Diploma in Revenue and Tax Administration from the East Africa School of Taxation, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University. He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Strathmore University Business School in Nairobi.

Mark is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and brings over 12 years of legal practice experience. He is passionate about leadership, personal development, and making a positive impact in his community.
