Career Biography

Ole Wendler Pedersen is a seasoned legal executive with extensive experience in corporate law, compliance, and sustainability. As the Global General Counsel at H. Lundbeck A/S, he leads the company’s Legal, Compliance & Sustainability functions, setting strategy and ensuring corporate governance across global operations. He acts as a key business partner to the Board of Directors and Executive Management, providing strategic guidance on mergers and acquisitions, litigation (including IP matters), compliance investigations, securities law, antitrust, data privacy, and corporate governance. Pedersen also plays a critical role in supporting the Audit Committee, Corporate Functions Management, and the Global Compliance Committee.

Prior to joining Lundbeck, Pedersen held multiple leadership roles at Novo Nordisk, where he spent nearly two decades shaping legal and compliance strategies. As Regional General Counsel and Vice President of Legal, Compliance & Quality for Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals Europe, he managed legal and compliance matters across 37 countries, overseeing a team of around 100 employees. His responsibilities included litigation, regulatory compliance, commercial partnerships, and corporate governance.

Earlier in his career, Pedersen served as Senior Corporate Counsel at Novo Nordisk Inc. (USA), where he advised senior management on high-stakes litigations, government investigations, and compliance with US regulations, including FCPA, False Claims Act, and Antitrust laws. He also took on an interim leadership role overseeing Litigation, Employment, and Legal Operations in the US.

With a strong foundation in corporate and competition law, Pedersen has held legal roles in Denmark, Switzerland, and the US, bringing a global perspective to his work. His early experience includes practicing at Philip & Partners and serving as Associate General Counsel at Novo Nordisk Health Care AG, where he was responsible for antitrust compliance and corporate governance.
