How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

My team and I try to foresee regulatory changes that potentially could incur during periods of instability and how we can support not only our business in a strict sense but also the business of our customers and partners and through that help preserve and strengthen the business long term. Clear communication is super important. I work closely with leadership to assess risks.

What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

A key focus has been overseeing the legal aspects of our Series B funding round which we closed in December 2024. Help support the transition from a contractual point of a direct selling motion to our current business model of selling through partners.

What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?

We recognized early on that the power consumption in our data centers would be responsible for our largest carbon footprint for the business. We decided to make a strategic decision to pick vendors with modern energy-efficient facilities using renewable/resilient power sources. As our business has grown into having a larger share of enterprise-size customers we see these choices paying off.

Recently the legal team has started an initiative to integrate certain ESG standards into our strategy and track the development across the business.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

Technology is certainly reshaping the legal industry. AI-powered contract review, compliance automation, and other impactful tools allow us to do more with less, removing the low-risk repetitive tasks. I try to participate in legal tech communities, attend industry conferences, and encourage my team to do the same.
